Sault man facing break and enter charge

Following an investigation, the man is facing a charge after OPP officers responded to an alarm at a business in Echo Bay in early May

ECHO BAY - On May 10, 2019, at approximately 4 a.m. members of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to an alarm and possible break and enter into a business on Highway 17B, Echo Bay, Ont.

Officers attended the scene and confirmed there had been a break and enter with no suspects present. Members of the OPP along with the assistance of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) commenced their investigation.

As a result of a lengthy investigation, the OPP have charged James Lawrence Bolan, 29 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. with the following:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4, 2019, for video remand located at 426 Queen Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
