During the month of January 2019, members from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and Highway Safety Division (HSD) responded to 426 calls for service which included the following:
- 22 property and vehicle related calls
- 14 motor vehicle collisions
- two personal injury motor vehicle collisions
- seven violent related crimes
- one Impaired charge
- 75 provincial statute charges
Members from the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment and Highway Safety Division have responded to numerous motor vehicle collisions which were a direct result from not driving according to the conditions of the weather.
The OPP would like to remind motorists to reduce their speed and proceed with caution as road and weather conditions are continuously changing throughout our winter months.
