Sault resident arrested on outstanding warrant in Blind River

A news release issued today by the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) states that 30-year-old Morgan Armstrong of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested on an outstanding warrant yesterday in Blind River.

Full text of the OPP release follows:

On June 8, 2021, a bench warrant was issued for an individual who failed to attend court in the City of Elliot Lake on April 6, 2021.

On Aug. 8, 2021 shortly after 5 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested the outstanding person on West Street in the Town of Blind River.

As a result, Morgan Armstrong, 30 years of age from Sault Ste. Marie, was charged with:
    •    failure to attend court while on release order, contrary to section 145(2) of the Criminal Code

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice video bail in Blind River on Aug. 8, 2021.
