Single-vehicle crash leads to impaired charges in Wawa

A Niagara Falls resident faces charges as result of a single vehicle crash in Wawa, Superior East OPP said in a news release today. 

Police say they responded to a call around 10:41 p.m. last night of a single vehicle collision on Highway 17 at Catfish Lake Road.

Upon investigation, police say they determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Jason Rouleau, 44-years-of-age, of Niagara Falls was charged with

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.

 The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Apr. 4, 2022 in Wawa.
