A fatal accident on Manitoulin Island at 4am today has closed highway 6 in Shequiandah Township. The driver lost his life in this single-vehicle accident. No other details are available at this time but police estimate the highway will be closed for a considerable period of time.
Highway 144 near the Windy Lake cutoff was reopened yesterday evening following a collision between a transport truck and a train. Sudbury O.P.P. reports that there were no injuries. Several cars of the train were derailed.
