(Cochrane, ON) - On December 24th, 2004 at 3:44 a.m. Cochrane OPP and the Cochrane Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire in Glackmeyer Township (Town of Cochrane).
Upon arrival the residence was fully engulfed and subsequently burned to the ground.
After searching the burned residence, several bones, which are believed to be human remains, were discovered.
The bones will be sent for forensic analysis, as the investigation continues.
The two residents of the home, which were presumed to have been inside, still have not been located.
Missing are Kathleen PAYNE, 55 and Kenneth SHAW, 57.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, Cochrane Fire Department and the Cochrane Ontario Provincial Police detachment personnel are continuing their investigation into this tragic incident.
