Impaired Driving and Dangerous Driving Charges Laid After Two Vehicle Collision Near Massey
(ESPANOLA, ON)-Members of the Espanola OPP detachment responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 17 west of Massey shortly after 10:00 AM yesterday involving a tractor traler and a car. Investigation revealed that the westboound car crossed the centre line into the path of the eastbound tractor trailer. The male driver and three female passengers of the car were all taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. One of the females was then transfered to Health Sciences North with serious non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The driver of the car was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested by police.
Abraham SOUTHWIND, (38 yrs) of Oshawa, Ontario has been charged with Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm , Drive-Over 80mgs Causing Bodily Harm and Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm. The accused will appear in Espanola court on August 6th 2013.
