A 54-year-old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence investigation.  It is alleged that on the 1st of March the accused assaulted his wife by striking her in the head.  He will be appearing in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning.

53-year-old Edward Petts of  Edinburgh Street, and 28-year-old Jennifer McMillan of no fixed address were both arrested for theft under $5,000.  It is alleged that on March the pair entered the Wal-Mart on Great Northern Road, placed approximately $680 worth of goods in shopping bags, and left the store without paying. They will be appearing in court on March 31.

18-year-old Tyler Luc Ralph and 20-year-old Shanna Jessie Ferland both of Albert Street West were arrested on the 1st of March in relation to a stolen iPod.  Tyler was charged with theft and Shanna charged with possessing stolen property.  The theft occurred on February 5 from a male known to them.  Both will appear in court on March 31.

On the 2nd of March 3014, City Police observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Queen Street East.  The vehicle was stopped on Huron Street.  Officers noted that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 27-year-old Matthew Wegener of Parker Avenue was arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80.  He will appear in court on March 31, 2014. 

On the 2nd of March, 2014, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a domestic assault complaint. Officers learned that a female had been assaulted by a male who is her ex-husband. The assault consisted of the female being punched and then pushed.  The victim did not require any medical attention. The accused has been charged with assault and will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning.
