The O.P.P. reports a fairly quiet twenty-four hour period around Sault Ste. Marie.
The O.P.P. reports a fairly quiet twenty-four hour period around Sault Ste. Marie. Police and the Ministry of Natural Resources were called out yesterday to search for a missing fisherman on Lake Wenebegon, located between Thessalon and Chapleau on highway #129.

The 28-year-old male, from Newmarket, Ontario, was alone in a 12-foot aluminium boat with a 3hp motor. The conditions on the lake were windy, cold, and choppy at 8am when he started out. Motors problems put him on-shore at an isolated part of the lake.

Other fishermen called the OPP when the missing angler failed to show up around 4pm. Police contacted the MNR and they had a helicopter available. The missing fisherman was found around 7:00 last evening in good condition.
