A driver from Brampton is facing a pair of charges after a traffic complaint in Blind River earlier this week.

On Aug. 12 around 9:30 p.m., officers with the East Algoma detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a westbound white cube van that ran a red light on Causley Street in Blind River.

Around 10 p.m., officers saw the van on Highway 17 in Thessalon, near River Street, and stopped the vehicle.

While speaking with the driver, officers determined he was breaking curfew and was a suspended driver.

Jordan Fagan, 24, is charged with:

  • failure to comply with release order-other than to attend court
  • driving while under suspension

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on Aug. 13, 2024, and was remanded into custody.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Fagan is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
