Thessalon teen facing numerous charges

Police say the teen is alleged to have threatened his parents and damaged some property

An investigation by Ontario Provincial Police has led to charges, including one of uttering threats, for a Thessalon teen.

Police responded to the call on July 1.

The full release from the OPP follows:

On July 1, 2020, members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a threats complaint in the Town of Thessalon. 

Investigation determined, a youth had threatened his parents and damaged some personal property.

As a result of the investigation, a 17 year old, from Thessalon, was charged with:

  • Uttering Threats-Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC; and with
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on August 13, 2020.
