Three arrested in relation to Echo Bay break and enter

Three individuals were arrested this weekend in the Echo Bay area for allegedly breaking and entering, the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said in a news release. Travis Simons, Daniel Williamson, and Dylan Doyon were charged with multiple offences.

On February 26, 2022, members from the Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties in MacDonald-Meredith-Aberdeen Additional Township.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., police conducted a property check at the local Landfill Site on Watson Road and observed the entrance gate broken off its hinges. A short time later a cube van was located backed into a snow bank at another location near the Landfill Site property. 

With the assistance from members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service (SSMPS) Canine Unit and SSMPS Emergency Services Unit, the OPP arrested three individuals.

As a result, Travis Simons, 43 years-of-age, from the Municipality of Huron Shores was charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place-With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC

Daniel Williamson, 45 years-of-age, from Sault Ste Marie was charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place-With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the CC
  • Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC

Dylan Doyon, 30 years-of-age, from Sault Ste Marie was charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place-With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the CC
  • Mischief, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC

The three accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on March 21, 2022.
