THREATS UTTERED – ONE PERSON ARRESTED

(Desbarats, ON.) – On Thursday April 23, 2009 at approximately 12:20 p.m. the East Algoma OPP were contacted regarding threats being made towards Central Algoma Secondary School.

As a result the school was place in a Code Green Lockdown for the protection of the students and staff. The Code Green Lockdown was lifted at approximately 2:30 p.m. and the school resumed normal operations.

An employee of ADSB has been arrested for “Uttering Threats”

The employee will appear in Sault Ste. Marie bail court tomorrow.

The investigation is continuing.

Failing to Provide Breath Sample

(Hornepayne) – On April 22, 2009 OPP had occasion to stop a vehicle on Becker Street in Hornepayne when they noticed the vehicle weaving as it proceeded along the street. The vehicle was stopped and officers noted a smell of alcohol. As a result the female driver refused to supply a sample of her breath when demanded. Karen MEUNIER, age 55 of Hornepayne will appear in Criminal Court on August 27, 2009 charged with “Failing to Provide Breath Sample.”

R.I.D.E. – Several RIDE checks were conducted throughout the Superior East patrol area with 220 vehicles being checked and no infractions noted.

WARRANT EXECUTED NETS SEVERAL CHARGES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On the 15 of April 2009 at approximately 1:17 p.m. the East Algoma OPP and the OPP Joint Forces Drug executed a warrant on a residence on Brunswick Walk in Elliot Lake.

Stolen property and drugs were recovered from the residence.

Charged with following is Raymond Michael O’CONNELL (42) of Elliot Lake.

Breach of Probation (2 counts)
Fail to comply with Undertaking (2 counts)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Possession of Cocaine
Possession for the Purpose - under 3kg
Possession of Cannabis – over 30 grams
O’CONNEL remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Also charged with the following is Heidi Amanda ZEIDLER (23) of Elliot Lake.

Breach of Probation (2 counts)
Possession for the Purpose – under 3kg
Possession of Cannabis – over 30 grams
ZEIDLER is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on June 2, 2009.
