SNOW CAUSES TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NORTH HIGHWAY
Heyden, Ont.,

Last night's snow fall caused Sault Ste Marie OPP to close Hwy 17 north of Sault Ste Marie at the Mile Hill about 20 kms north of Sault Ste Marie.

At about 2:00 a.m. this morning three transports became stuck on the hill and blocked the highway. Ministry of Transportation sanders were called and at about 4:30 a.m. this morning the highway was re-opened to traffic.

At 4:00 a.m. Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Goulais Mission Rd where a tree fell and blocked the roadway. It was eventually removed and that road is now open to traffic.

All highways in and around the Sault Ste Marie area are open and passable.
