FEMALE CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING

(Blind River, ON.) – On April 25th, 2009 an officer from the East Algoma-Blind River OPP detachment was on routine patrol in Blind River when he observed a westbound Honda Pilot entering the town limits at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Using police radar the vehicle registered speeds of 127 km/h in the then 90 km/h zone. The officer followed the vehicle into the 70 km/h zone without the Honda reducing its speed. Once in the 50 km/h zone with the officer still following behind, the vehicle registered 110 km/h in the 50 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was charged accordingly.

The driver, 20 year Natasha Nolan of Garden River is charged with stunt driving under section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. Her licence has been suspended and the Honda Pilot was impounded, both for seven days. Nolan is scheduled to appear in Blind River Provincial Offences Court on June 12th, 2009.
