Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Male Arrested
(Wawa, ON.) – On Wednesday August 11, 2010 at approximately 7:20 pm, a member of the Superior East Detachment in Wawa stopped a motor vehicle in Tiernan Township approximately 30 kms south of Wawa. Investigation revealed the vehicle, a Ford pickup, had been reported stolen to the London Police Service. Andrew ANDERSON, age 34 of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00. He is being held pending a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday August 13, 2010.


Van Rollover Sends Seven To Hospital
(Wawa, ON.) – On Thursday August 12, 2010 at approximately 10:05 am, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police - Superior East Detachment in Wawa and Chapleau responded to a motor vehicle rollover on Hwy. 101 at Hwy. 651. The Wawa Fire Department and Algoma EMS crews from Wawa and Chapleau attended as well. Investigation revealed a westbound Dodge Voyager van with seven occupants left the roadway and rolled into the ditch. All occupants were taken to Lady Dunn Health Center in Wawa where they were treated and released. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending
