OPP LAY OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE CHARGE (ST. JOSEPH ISLAND, ON.) – In April of 2011 East Algoma OPP received a complaint from Conservation Officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources in relation to one of their investigations from November 2010.

OPP LAY OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE CHARGE

(ST. JOSEPH ISLAND, ON.) – In April of 2011 East Algoma OPP received a complaint from Conservation Officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources in relation to one of their investigations from November 2010.  The crime unit from the East Algoma OPP detachment conducted an investigation into their concerns.  As a result of this investigation 56 year old Bruce IBBITSON of Sault Ste Marie has been charged with the criminal offence of Obstructing Justice contrary to section 139(2). IBBITSON is scheduled to appear in court on December 12, 2011.

 

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(Blind River, ON.) – On November 17, 2011at 8:45 a.m. an officer from the East Algoma OPP detachment in Blind River was travelling on Causley street in Blind River when he stopped a vehicle for having a radar warning device.  A check of the driver revealed that he was wanted in Alberta for various charges.  He was arrested at which time police located a baggy containing suspect marihuana and cannabis resin.  Craig Michael RAMSAY, 28 years old from Fort McMurray, Alberta has been charged with the following offences.

1) Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30grams

2) Possession Schedule II Cannabis resin - under 1gram

3) Drive motor vehicle - no license

4) Drive motor vehicle with speed measuring warning device

RAMSAY was release and is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on January 5, 2012 to answer to the charges.

 

MALE ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT

(AWERES TWP., ON) – Yesterday evening at 10:15 pm OPP responded to a fight in progress in the 100 block of Jody Lane at Beaumont Trailer Park in Aweres Township.

It is alleged that a male physically assaulted the Park Supervisor and threatened two residents of the Park.

35 year old Lance Boissoneau of Whiskey Jack Drive, Garden River, Ontario was arrested and charged with one count of Assault and one count of Uttering Threats.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Provincial Court on January 9, 2012 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
