SEARCHMONT SKI RESORT PREPARES TO CATCH "SCAM" SKIERS
Searchmont, Ont.,

Northern Ontario's largest ski resort is preparing to work with the Ontario Provincial Police to catch and charge people who try to cheat the resort out of lift ticket fee's.

At the end of last years ski season, the managers of the resort noticed a steady increase in the number of people who attempted to ski for the day without paying, or who were violating the terms and conditions of the seasonal passes.

Searchmont Ski Resort and Sault Ste Marie OPP have discussed a joint plan to attempt to catch and charge people who try to use the resort's lifts without paying the proper fees for the services.

The resort will take several discreet security precautions and will increase the number of people who are visually checking for valid lift tickets. In a joint effort to catch and stop the number of people who commit this crime, the OPP will attend the resort and charge anyone who is caught committing these actions.
