SHED VANDALIZED FIVE TIMES (CHAPLEAU, ON.) – During the past five weeks a storage shed located at 24 Birch Street in Chapleau has been vandalized by person(s) unknown.

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – During the past five weeks a storage shed located at 24 Birch Street in Chapleau has been vandalized by person(s) unknown. The shed is located in an isolated area immediately to the rear of a local chip stand. Although nothing appears to have been removed, considerable damage has been caused to the entrance doors on the shed as a result of these incidents. To apprehend those responsible and end these senseless incidents, The OPP is asking anyone with information to contact The OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(WAWA, ON.) – On July 7, 2010 Superior East OPP in Wawa had occasion to observe a 2005 Ford F150 being driven by a female on Mackey Street at Churchill Ave in Wawa. The officers also recognized the driver as someone they had spoken to earlier while she had been walking near a local business and she had appeared to have been under the influence of alcohol. When the officers stopped the vehicle. The driver, Rae-Ellen NOTHING age 41 of Wawa, Ontario was subsequently arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with;
(1) Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle;
(2) Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood/Alcohol content.
She will appear in Wawa Criminal Court on September 20, 2010 to answer to the charges.

SERIOUSLY INJURED DRIVER IDENTIFIED

(WHITE RIVER, ON) – On July 5, 2010 a media release was issued reporting a single vehicle roll-over which had occurred on Highway 17, Hunt Twp just south of White River on July 2, 2010. The driver had received life threatening injuries and had been transported to Sudbury Hospital for treatment. The driver is identified as Michael Thomas WALSH age 22 of SHERBROOKE, Quebec and he still remains in critical condition in hospital. The other two occupants of the vehicle had received minor injuries and were treated and released from Lady Dunn Health Sciences Centre in Wawa. The vehicle involved in this collision was completely demolished.

BREAK AND ENTER TO CONSTRUCTION SITE

$30,000.00 in Equipment Stolen

(MacDonald Twp., ON) – Sault Ste. Marie OPP was investigating a break- in to a construction site in the 500 block of Government Road in MacDonald Township was entered sometime overnight between Tuesday, July 6, 2010 and Wednesday July 7, 2010.

A secured area had a metal gate forcibly entered and five large power trucks had all the bins pried open and rifled through. Numerous items from each truck were taken, including hand tools.

A rear gated area was also entered and a Miska dump trailer was stolen along with a 50 inch spool full with 1000 ft of 5/8 yellow rope.
