OPP CHARGE DRIVER FOR UNSAFE VEHICLE (SOUTH PORCUPINE) The South Porcupine OPP has charged a 53 year old driver with a number of traffic offences stemming from a routine traffic stop on June 19 th , 2013, on Hwy 101 in Tisdale Twp.

OPP CHARGE DRIVER FOR UNSAFE VEHICLE

(SOUTH PORCUPINE) The South Porcupine OPP has charged a 53 year old driver with a number of traffic offences stemming from a routine traffic stop on June 19th, 2013, on Hwy 101 in Tisdale Twp.

An OPP officer had occasion to observe a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was apparently in need of mechanical attention.

The driver was stopped and the vehicle was subjected to an on-site safety inspection by the officer.

The officer noted that the vehicle's frame was cracked in at least two locations rendering it unfit for use on any provincial highway according to the Highway Traffic Act.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was not covered by valid insurance.

As a result, Luc RONDEAU, 53, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  •        Operate Unsafe Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  •        Operate Motor Vehicle While No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The vehicle was removed from the scene. 

The licence plates were removed from the vehicle.

The driver has been served with a summons requiring him to attend Provincial Court on August 8th, 2013, to answer to the charges laid against him.
