Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. was called to the Batchawana First Nation after a group of about ten youths "attacked" a City of Sault Ste. Marie Transit bus.

At about 11:30 p.m. last night, the bus was making a regular stop near the band office when a group of about ten youths came out of a bush area. It is reported that some of the youths were carrying sticks. They banged on the side of the bus until the driver drove away. It is not known if the bus was damaged.

A short time later a youth who lives on Frontenac Street on the Batchawana First Nation complained of being assaulted by two of the youths in the group.

Just after midnight the group of ten young people was located on Chambers Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie. They indicated that they were enroute to a residence on Adrian Drive. Most of the group are not residents of the Batchawana First Nation. The Batchawana First Nation Police will follow up this investigation. No charges or arrests were made last night.
