The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public of the following road closure

Location: . Hwy 17 - 3 Kms W of Blind River.

Detachment area: East Algoma

Time of road closure: 0545 hrs

Reason for the closure: Tractor Trailer blocking Highway

Time road reopened: 0823 HIGHWAY HAS REOPENED TO ONE LANE

DOMESTIC RESULTS IN BAIL COURT APPEARANCE

(Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) Members of the Batchewana First Nation Police took one person into custody last night after an attending a domestic in the area.

Last night at about 11:15 p.m. officer with the Batchewana First Nation Police attended a home on August Street. Officers arrived to find a woman outside the home. Initial reports indicate that a male at the home had left the area prior to police arrival.
The investigation revealed that the woman was under a court order not to consume alcohol. It was evident to police that she was under the influence.

A twenty seven (27) year old Sault Ste Marie woman was taken into police custody for breach of probation and is being held in custody for bail court this morning.

Members of the Batchewana First Nation Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

(Thessalon, Ontario) The East Algoma – Thessalon OPP would like to report that the previously reported missing person Edward PICHE, was located on Wednesday June 27, 2007.

The OPP would like to thank the public’s assistance in helping us locate PICHE.

MISSING PERSON

(East Algoma OPP) The East Algoma Thessalon Detachment are currently looking for a missing male from the Thessalon Township area. The male recently relocated from the Diamond Lake area located in Johnson Township, north of Desbarats.

Edward John PICHE (56) is described as 5’6”, approximately 140 lbs, with short grey hair. He could be driving a 1981 White Parisienne 4 door car.

BREAK AND ENTERS

(Plummer Additional Township, North of Bruce Mines, Ontario) On Wednesday June 27, 2007 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the East Algoma Thessalon OPP received a report of two break and enters on Old Beach Road, Rock Lake, located in Plummer Additional Township.

Two sheds were entered and a 5 HP motor and a chainsaw was stolen.
