FOUND PROPERTY

(Fenwick Twp.) A homeowner in the 600 block of Pinehores Road in Fenwick Township returned home yesterday around 4:00 pm to find the following property at the front entrance of his driveway;
Two hearing aids and one carrying case, 3 packs of hearing aid batteries and an Activair battery tester.

Anyone who may have information on who this property may belong to is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.

UPDATE: Missing Echo Bay Woman Located

Sault Ste Marie OPP have been able to Locate Shannon Purvis safe and sound. The OPP will follow up with Ms. Purvis to see if any further police investigation is required. Sault Ste Marie Detachment would like to thank the Media for their quick action on this case. The quick media response enabled us to get the message out to Shannon that people were concerned for her safety.

Public Assistance Sought In Finding a Missing Person

Sault Ste Marie OPP area seeking the assistance of the public to locate a Echo Bay woman last seen walking West Bound on the old Hwy# 17 near the Pit Stop Gas bar between 5:30 – 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning the 27th of March.

Thursday morning a woman believed to be Shannon Purvis (Bailey) was seen walking west on old Hwy#17. Shannon may be in some distress and was very lightly dressed for the weather.

Shannon is described as Caucasian Female age 32, Slim build with middle of the back length blond hair, with black streaks. She was last seen wearing a Beige Coat with a matching belt, grey pants, black boots and was carrying a black purse.

Anyone who may have picked up a woman on old Hwy#17 early Thursday Morning, or know of Shannon’s whereabouts are asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310 -1122. The OPP are trying to contact Shannon to ensure her safety.

Officers are searching along Hwy# 638 from Echo Bay to Sault Ste. Marie.

STOLEN SNOWMOBILE

(Aweres Twp., Ont.) Sometime between 4:00 am and 6:30 am yesterday morning a snow machine was stolen from a yard on Pants Lake Road in Aweres Township.

Stolen was a black 2002 arctic ZR8. There were two other snow machines in the yard when the theft occurred but neither one had been tampered with.

STUNT DRIVING CHARGE LAID

(Garden River First Nation, Ont.) Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Traffic and Marine Unit were conducting stationary radar enforcement along Highway 17 in Garden River First Nation Territory when a westbound motor vehicle went by at 145 km/hr yesterday evening at approximately 8:45 pm.

Charged under section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act with Operation a Motor Vehicle while performing a stunt – 145 km/hr is a posted 90 km/hr zone was Matthew Colin GOSSELIN, 24 years, of 19 Laborne St. Blind River, Ontario.

MR. GOSSELIN was issued a summons for court on the 14th May 2008.

The brown 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora that GOSSELIN was driving was impounded for 7 days and his Ontario Driver’s License was suspended for 7 days under the legislation.
