MALE CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING (WAWA, ON) – On November 18, 2012 Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment officers were conducting radar patrol on Highway 17 North of Wawa in Tiernan Township.

MALE CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING

(WAWA, ON) – On November 18, 2012 Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment officers were conducting radar patrol on Highway 17 North of Wawa in Tiernan Township.  At 5:30 pm a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier was recorded driving in excess of 60 kilometres per hour of the posted 90 kilometres per hour speed limit.  The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the driver, 25 year old Eric ATTARD of Welland, Ontario was charged under section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.  The accused driver’s license was seized and the vehicle was impounded for the mandatory 7 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court in Wawa on February 22, 2013.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG SIEZURE AND CHARGES

(CHAPLEAU, ON)  - On November 20, 2012 an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chapleau Detachment officer was conducting radar patrols on Highway 129 in Daoust Township.  A 2003 Ford Crown Victoria bearing an Alberta marker was stopped for a Highway Traffic Act violation.  Further investigation lead to the arrest of the driver, 24 year old Riley PILGRIM of Edmonton, Alberta.  A search of the vehicle revealed over 50 grams of suspected Marihuana.

The accused stands charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana and he is to appear in Chapleau Criminal Court on February 20, 2013.

OPP SEEK RIGHTFUL OWNER OF BOAT MOTOR

(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On November 16, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chapleau Detachment arrested 18 year old Rene LANDRY of Chapleau.  OPP investigation revealed evidence that the accused had committed theft back in October at a local camp.  The accused will appear in Chapleau Criminal Court sometime in the New Year.

At this time OPP are actively seeking the owner to a boat motor that was recovered during this investigation.  The motor had been found hidden in the bush along the Kebsquasheshing River.  Once the rightful owner can positively identify the motor it will be returned.

BREAK ENTER AND THEFT ON AXMITH AVENUE           

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The OPP is currently investigating a Break Enter and Theft at a residence on Axmith Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. November 21, 2012 unknown person(s) entered the residence by forcing open the front door.  Once inside the residence was searched. Taken from the residence is an undisclosed amount of money, jewellery and passports.

Again police is asking the public to report suspicious person(s) or activities in your neighbourhood.
