UNKNOWN SUSPECTS PAINT VEHICLES, HOUSE AND MORE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) –The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is currently investigating a series of mischief during the weekend.

During the evening of November 19th, 2011 unknown persons spray painted 8 vehicles, 4 houses, 1 garage and 1 fence in the area of Pearson Drive, Mississauga Avenue and Hillside Drive. Also reported was a broken back window of a car on Stevens Road.

ASSAULT AND MISCHIEF CHARGES FOR LOCAL MALE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – November 18, 2011 at approximately 10:04 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Ontario Avenue in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

Officers entered the residence and learned that the victim and the suspect had been allegedly drinking together when the suspect allegedly started breaking items in the residence and assaulted the victim.

Charged with Assault and Mischief is Dale VIVIAN (51) of Elliot Lake.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 3, 2012.

DISCUSSION TURNS VIOLENT

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On the 19th of November 2011 at approximately 8:25 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a resident on Chalmers Crescent in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

When police arrived on scene, they located and transported the victim to the hospital via ambulance.

Through investigation, police learned that the suspect and the victim had engaged in a discussion when the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a flashlight. The victim managed to get away and contacted police.

The victim was treated for minor injuries and later released from the hospital.

Charged with the following is Michael William VIOLA (49) of Elliot Lake.

Assault with a weapon
Assault Cause Bodily Harm

The accused is scheduled to attend Elliot Lake court on January 3, 2012.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – While conducting a R.I.D.E. program on November 20, 2011 officers of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Beech Road in Elliot Lake at approximately 12:28 a.m.

Officers spoke with the driver and through investigation the driver was charged.

Charged with the following is Joseph BELL (74) of Elliot Lake.

Impaired Operation
Exceed 80

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on January 3, 2012.
