Public Reminder For Road Condition Toll Free Number.
(Wawa, On) The Superior East Wawa OPP is asking the public not to call the Provincial Communication Centre for Winter Road Condition, rather they are asked to call the toll free number at 1-800-268-4686.
NOT TOO BAD, ONLY TWO CRASHES
(Sault Ste Marie, Ont.) Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated only two crashes yesterday in our detachment area.
The first one happened last night at about 6:00 p.m. when a van was traveling southbound on Hwy 17 in the Havilland Shores Drive area of Goulais River. The driver lost control of the vehicle and the van went into the ditch. The van rolled onto its roof. The driver was not injured and a tow truck was obviously needed to get the van out.
At about 8:00 p.m. a transport was traveling east on Hwy 17 in Laird Twp between Bar River Road and Lake George Road. The truck went into the ditch and the driver was not injured. Again, tow truck companies made a few extra dollars off of area drivers.
