NO INJURIES FROM TWO VEHICLE CRASH (Garden River First Nation, Ont.) No one was injured yesterday after a two vehicle crash on Hwy 17 in Garden River. Yesterday at about 11:00 a.m. three vehicles were westbound on Hwy 17 in Garden River.

(Garden River First Nation, Ont.) No one was injured yesterday after a two vehicle crash on Hwy 17 in Garden River.

Yesterday at about 11:00 a.m. three vehicles were westbound on Hwy 17 in Garden River. One vehicle stopped to make a left turn into a business. The second vehicle, a transport, stopped and was waiting for the first vehicle to make the turn. A third vehicle came up behind the truck and was unable to stop in time.

The third vehicle crashed into the back of the transport. The third vehicle was severally damaged and had to be towed from the scene. No charges were laid in the crash.

MALE CHARGED FOR INTOXICATED IN A PUBLIC PLACE

(St. Charles, On.) On Monday, Oct 01st, 2007, police attended a business on Main Street in St-Charles after receiving complaints of an intoxicated person. Police attended the business and removed an intoxicated male, transporting him to the Noelville OPP Detachment cells until sober. He was later released and served Provincial Offence notices for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place and Having Open Liquor in Other than Licensed Premises, Residence or Private Place.

OFF ROAD VEHICLE CHECKS RESULTS IN LIQUOR CHARGES

(Markstay Warren, On.) On Saturday, Sept 06th, 2007, members of the North East Region S.A.V.E. Team (Snowmobile, ATV, Vessel Enforcement) conducted Off Road vehicle and Motor vehicle checks off Highway 805, Obabika Lake area. Numerous off road vehicles and drivers were checked. One person was charged with Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and another person was charged with Consuming Liquor in Other Than Licenced Premises. Police would like to remind all off road vehicle users that the S.A.V.E. Team will be out patrolling off road trails to ensure that all drivers abide by the rules of the road. Drinking and driving does not mix. Drive sober!

9-1-1 CALLS

The Ontario Provincial Police responded to eight (8) non-emergency 9-1-1 calls since 01st October 2007. Two calls were accidental while two were misdialed calls. One call was a caller dialing 9-1-1 for advice, but decided not to tie up the lines and hung up. Two calls were a malfunction in the lines and the last call was an actual 9-1-1 call which resulted in a Police investigation.
Police would like to again remind residents that 9-1-1 calls are for life and death emergencies such as: a collision with injuries, a crime in progress, any incidents where the public is in danger or an individual’s safety is at risk.

Do NOT hang up after dialing, even if by mistake. Any accidental 9-1-1 calls will require a visit by a police officer.

Highway 17 near Labine Road in the Municipality of Markstay Warren. Two vehicle collision. Both vehicles damaged. Minor injuries. One driver was charged with Making an Unsafe Lane Change.
Oct 04th, 2007. 08:42 am. Church Street in the Municipality of Markstay Warren. Two vehicle collision. Minor damage to one vehicle. No injuries. One driver charged with Start From Stopped Position Not in Safety.
Oct 04th, 2007. 3:26 pm. Highway 17 between Awrey Street and Berton Street in the Municipality of Markstay Warren. Two vehicle collision. Extensive damage. Minor injuries. One driver charged with Careless Driving.
Oct 05th, 2007. 4:43 pm. Highway 17 near Gauthier Road in the Municipality of West Nipissing. Single vehicle rollover. Extensive damage to vehicle. Four persons with injuries transported by ambulance to West Nipissing General Hospital. Driver charged with Careless Driving.
Oct 06th, 2007. 04:00 am. Reported to Police at 10:30 am. North Channel Road in the Municipality of French River. Single vehicle roll over. Vehicle damaged. No injuries. Driver charged with Fail to Report Accident.
