HWY 17 CRASH RESULTS IN CHARGES AGAINST LOCAL MAN

Garden River First Nation, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP attended a two vehicle collision yesterday morning on Hwy 17 in Garden River.

At about 8:30 a.m. yesterday three vehicles were stopped on Hwy 17 in Garden River while a school bus was picking up children. A forth vehicle was traveling in the same direction and was approaching the other three vehicles. The driver of the forth vehicle was unable to stop in time and ran into the back of the third vehicle.

There were no injuries in this collision and damage was not significant enough to need any tow trucks. As a result of the crash, thirty six year old Clifford MACEACHERN of Echo Bay has been charged with Following too Close contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
