CHARGES LAID IN ROBBERY AT CLYDE’S VARIETY STORE

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) At approximately 10:55 pm on October 21, 2012 Sault Ste. Marie OPP and Batchewana First Nation Police responded to a robbery that occurred at Clyde’s Variety Store on Gran Street.

As the employee was ending the shift two males entered the store and demanded the money from the register.

One male pointed what appeared to be a shot gun at the employee while the other demanded cash and pushed the employee to the floor.

Both suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result of a joint Police investigation involving the Batchewana Police Service, Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment and OPP Northeast Region Crime Unit two males have been arrested and charged.

Twenty year old Dylan Richard SOLOMON of Hiawatha Drive, Garden River First Nation, Ontario has been arrested and charged with one count of Robbery and one count of Pointing a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.  

Eighteen year old Dallas Anthony SOLOMON of White Birch, Garden River First Nation, Ontario has been arrested and charged with one count of Robbery and one count of Pointing a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both accused are being held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario today.

THREE CHARGED WITH BREAK AND ENTER

(Fisher Twp.,ON) On October 2nd, 2012 a break in to a home on Stoney Creek Road in Fisher Township was reported to OPP . 

Several items were stolen including a 1.5 karat diamond ring, a diamond bracelet; two watches, alcohol, credit cards, and a rare (American Presidents) coin collection were stolen.

Approximately $1000 worth of rolled (1976) American bi-centennial quarters was also stolen.

As a result of a Police investigation involving Sault Ste. Marie OPP and OPP Northeast Crime Unit three males have been arrested and charged.

Nineteen year old Daryl Shane SAYERS of Superior Street, Batchewana First Nation has been arrested and charged with one count of Break and Enter and one count of Possession of stolen property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

A seventeen year old youth and a sixteen year old youth have also been arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of stolen property. 

All three accused have been released on a Promise to Appear for Provincial Court in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Several items that were reported stolen have been recovered.
