POLICE IDENTIFY SUSPECTED MARIHUANA GROWER

James Christopher Payette, age 42, of Laid Township was identified by police today as being the suspect in a Marihuana bust.

On Tuesday, police had executed a search warrant on a Laird Township residence. Five Marihuana plants were seized along with several harvested stocks and a firearm.

Payette, who was not at home at he time, was located in the Sault early yesterday morning. He is in custody where he will be formally charged with a variety of drug related and weapons offences. He has been remanded into custody until a bail hearing tomorrow, October 4.
