POLICE DEFUSE THREATENING SITUATION (THESSALON, ON.) – On October 5, 2011 at 8:45 p.m. East Algoma OPP responded to a disturbance on River Street in Thessalon where a man reported being threatened by another man.
POLICE DEFUSE THREATENING SITUATION

(THESSALON, ON.) – On October 5, 2011 at 8:45 p.m. East Algoma OPP responded to a disturbance on River Street in Thessalon where a man reported being threatened by another man.

Police located the male subject on Main Street a short time later.

While officers were speaking with the individual, he became aggressive, withdrew a knife and began to threaten police.

Officers defused the situation and unarmed the individual who was then taken into custody without further incident or injury to himself or police.

The incident is remains under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
