MARIHUANA PLANTS LOCATED GROWING OUTDOORS:

On the 5th September 2007 the OPP Joint Forces Drug Unit which consists of members from the OPP Drug Enforcement Section, OPP North East Region, Sault Ste Marie Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police with assistance from the East Algoma OPP (Elliot Lake) located and seized 200 Marihuana Plants growing in the bush near Spragge, Ontario. The potential Street Value of these plants is $200,000.00.

No one was located at the grow site. The investigation is continuing.

UPDATE: Road Closure Advisory

Hwy 17 has reopened. Traffic is flowing in both directions.

The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public of the following periodic road closure throughout the day.

Location: Hwy 17 at Montreal River Hill

Detachment area: Wawa OPP

Reason for the closure: Single Tractor Trailer Collision
