OVERNIGHT RAIN “DAMPENS” THE CRIMINAL SPIRIT

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,It appears that, once again this week, a good heavy rain may be responsible for dampening the ambition and spirits of that small portion of society we have labeled “criminals”.

A check of the Sault Ste Marie OPP police blotter indicates no reported criminal activity over the past 24 hours. Officers were kept busy last night as heavy rain, thunder and lightening passed through the area. Just after the storm passed through, officers responded to several false 911 calls in the Heyden area. It appears that an unknown glitch in the telephone lines caused at least three unoccupied houses in the Heyden area to register “911” calls to emergency personnel. Officers responded to the calls only to find all the homes unoccupied.
