POLICE IDENTIFY VICTIM OF FATAL COLLISION

Garden River First Nation, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP have identified the driver of the pick up truck that was involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision last night.

Fifty four year old, Barry Diggins of Leeburn Ont., died of his injuries in Sault and Area Hospitals. Mr. Diggins was alone in his vehicle.

The vehicle he was operating lost control on Echo River Road, rolled over and sheared off an utility pole.

The accident still remains under investigation.

SAULT STE MARIE OPP PREPARING FOR SEAT BELT BLITZ

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

Members of Sault Ste Marie OPP are preparing for the annual Provincial Seat Belt Blitz that will begin on Saturday 29 Sept 2001 and runs through to Saturday 13 October 2001.

Members of the Sault Ste Marie OPP Detachment will be encouraged to show no consideration on seat belt enforcement during the next two weeks.
