Investigation Continuing Into a Multi Vehicle Collision
OPP Seek Driver of an Extended Cab Pick-Up Truck


(Sudbury, Ontario) – The Ontario Provincial Police is requesting the public's assistance with an investigation of a motor vehicle collision that occurred just before 7:00 a.m. on June 22nd, 2006, on Highway 17 East, near Coniston Hydro Road, City of Greater Sudbury (between Coniston & Wahnapitae).

The driver of a westbound Jetta (car) was unable to merge at the end of the passing lane and stopped on the shoulder. The unknown driver of a dark coloured extended cab pick-up truck which was following the Jetta, suddenly swerved in front of a westbound Toyota car and continued on. As the roads were wet, the rear-end of the Toyota crossed into the eastbound lane colliding with a tanker truck. The tanker subsequently struck a westbound pick-up truck and resulted in the male driver suffering from serious injuries.

The OPP is seeking the driver of the dark coloured extended cab pick-up truck. Motorists travelling on Highway 17 East, near Coniston Hydro Road on June 22nd, 2006, just before 7:00 a.m. who may have witnessed the collision or anyone with information, is urged to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or (705) 564-6902 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). If your tip leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward. You will never have to give your name or testify in court and Crime Stoppers doesn’t have call display.


Bullets Fired Through Camp

Sometime between June 6th and September 2nd a camp on Clear Lake in Desbien Twp. North of Searchmont at least three bullets were fired through the windows and walls. Two windows , a kitchen table and a stereo cabinet door were damaged. Recovered at the scene was two spent bullets.
