Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. is reporting a relatively quiet long Easter weekend. Over the past three days officers have responded to child custody disputes, traffic and dog complaints, non-violent domestic situations and liquor licence violations.
The two non-related liquor offences were very similar and both involved 18-year-olds. The first was a male attempting to hitchhike home to Goulais River. Officers could smell liquor on him but he was not visibly intoxicated. They gave him a ride home.
The second was at 5:30 am yesterday. A visibly intoxicated 18-year-old female was walking along Highway 556 in Heyden when she was spotted by officers who gave her a liquor charge and a ride home.
There were no serious collisions and no criminal charges laid since Saturday.
