ASSAULT SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL AND ONE TO JAIL

Sault Ste Marie OPP have one man in custody and a warrant exists for a second man after a serious assault last Thursday.

At about 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, officers from the Sault Ste Marie OPP Detachment were called to a residence in the Upper Island Lake area of Heyden. Two occupants of the home were attacked and one man was sent to Sault and Area Hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation has revealed that in the early morning hours of Thursday, a female visited a house in the Upper Island Lake area. While at that home she was assaulted by a man. She returned to a nearby home and a male at that house attended the first home and assaulted the man in retaliation for assaulting the woman.

The man from the first house called a friend and they attended at the second home where the woman and man were staying.
