OPP CHARGE MALE WITH HELP FROM PUBLIC BLIND RIVER – On April 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. the OPP Provincial Communication Centre (PCC) in North Bay began receiving calls of an eastbound motor vehicle driving erratically near the Town of Iron Bridge.

BLIND RIVER – On April 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. the OPP Provincial Communication Centre (PCC) in North Bay began receiving calls of an eastbound motor vehicle driving erratically near the Town of Iron Bridge. Police patrolled the area and with the assistance of the motoring public they were able to locate the suspect vehicle. While dealing with the suspect and through their investigation of the complaints officers arrested the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Blind River OPP detachment for further tests and processing. 49-year-old William Kenneth Windover of Swift Current, Saskatchewan has been charged with the following offences:

-impaired operation of a motor vehicle, section 253(a) Criminal Coode
-operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol, section 253(b) Criminal Code
-dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, section 249(1)(a) Criminal Code
-driving under suspension, section 53 Highway Traffic Act
 
Windover was held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 8 in Sault Ste Marie.
