(Echo)Bay Police are looking for assistance from the public in hopes of locating a “Thor” duffle bag containing numerous Motor Cross Clothing items and protective equipment. The bag is reported to have fallen off a truck on Hwy 17 in the Echo Bay area last evening at approximately 7:00PM. If anyone has knowledge of the whereabouts of the bag and its contents, you are asked to contact police.

Busy weekend for officers on area highways

(Sault Ste. Marie OPP) Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment had a busy Civic Holiday weekend on area highways and waterways. On top of calls for service, a total of 152 charges were laid by officers on patrol. Of these charges, 107 were for speeding, 4 for hazardous moving violations, 3 seatbelt violations and 4 Liquor License Act violations. Marine officers laid 4 Liquor License Act charges while on Marine patrol. One person was charged with driving over 80 milligrams and two 3 day suspensions were issued.

Dispute between Commercial Fishermen results in Mischief Charge.

(Parisienne Island) Percy Agawa 46 years of Goulais Mission was charged with one count of mischief under $5000.00 this past weekend after a complaint was received from another commercial fisherman reporting that Agawa had boarded the victims boat docked at Parisienne Island and dumped approximately 100 lbs of fish, gas cans and ice into Lake Superior. Prior to leaving, Agawa untied the bow of the boat. The victim injured his hand in an effort to secure the boat back on the dock.

Drinking Driver nabbed on Great Northern Rd.

(Sault Ste. Marie) 26 year old Jeffrey Evans of Heyden Ontario was charged with driving with over 80 mgs of alcohol Saturday night at 10:15 PM after being stopped on Great Northern Rd. in the north end of the city. He was further charged with Breach of Probation.
