INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit along with assistance of members of the Kirkland Lake OPP have charged a local woman with several drug offences. The charges stem from the investigation of illegal drug related activities in the Kirkland Lake area. It culminated with the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located on Day Avenue in Kirkland Lake.

Seized as a result of the search was cocaine, cannabis resin, marihuana, prescription medication, a firearm, drug paraphernalia and money. The estimated value of the drugs and currency seized is approximately $4,100. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. on August 19, 2013.

Charged is Lindsay KELLY age 27 of Kirkland Lake with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, two counts Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Careless Storage of a Firearm , Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. She was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Timmins man with criminal code charges stemming from an investigation based on a complaint received by detachment officers.

OPP officers have completed their investigation and as a result,

Steve Marcel BROWN, 33, of Timmins, has been charged with:

-       One count of Sexual Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

-       One count of Aggravated Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

BROWN has been held in police custody in order to be present for a bail hearing at  Provincial Court in Timmins this morning.
