MOLOTOV COCKTAILS NET SEVERAL CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMALE (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP has arrested and charged a local female with several charges after receiving a police assistance call.

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP has arrested and charged a local female with several charges after receiving a police assistance call. December 5, 2010 police were called to a residence on Gauthier Place in Elliot Lake to assist the Elliot Lake Fire Department.

Police arrived on scene at approximately 8:12 p.m. and learned that a female was allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails out a second storey window. One firefighter advised police that a Molotov cocktail had narrowly missed him. Several burn marks in the area were observed.

Officers attended the driveway of the residence and verbally engaged a conversation with the subject. A short time later the officers entered the residence and arrested the subject.

Charged with the following is Sarah Cywink (23) of Elliot Lake: Assault with a weapon
Explosives – Intent to cause explosion
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Explosives – making or possessing for unlawful purpose

Cywink is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on February 1, 2011.

ONE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Police have charged a local male with assault due to a call received from the victim. On December 13, 2010 at approximately 11:51 a.m. police were called regarding a possible assault. The victim stated to police that the subject had allegedly punched him during a conversation about a driveway needing to be shovelled. The subject was located and charged.

Charged with Assault is Mike Cole (30) of Elliot Lake. Cole is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on February 1, 2011.

THEFT OF FOG LIGHT
(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – December 13, 2010 police received a call regarding the possible theft of fog lights of a 2010 Ford Pickup. Investigation revealed that sometime between December 6, 2010 and December 12, 2010 unknown person(s) removed one of the fog lights along with the plastic skirting of the Ford Pickup truck. Estimated cost to replace the parts is $682.59.
