VEHICLES ENTERED (Thessalon, ON.) – Members of the East Algoma Thessalon OPP have received a few complaints over the last week regarding vehicles being entered at night and personal belongings being rifled through.

(Thessalon, ON.) – Members of the East Algoma Thessalon OPP have received a few complaints over the last week regarding vehicles being entered at night and personal belongings being rifled through.

In one instance the owner’s manual was stolen.

The OPP want to remind you to lock your vehicle at night, even if it is in your driveway.

BREAK AND ENTER TO RESIDENCE

(Tarbutt Additional Township, ON.) – On February 2, 2009 the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment were contacted regarding a break and enter to a residence on MacLennan Road within Tarbutt Additional Township (located west of Desbarats, Ontario). The break and enter occurred during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and noon on February 2, 2009.

Suspects pried the door opened but nothing was taken in the break and enter.

BREAK AND ENTER

(Bruce Mines, ON.) On February 6, 2009 the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment received a complaint of a break and enter on MacKay Island Road in Bruce Mines, Ontario. The break and enter occurred sometime between January 21 and February 3, 2009.

Items stolen in the break and enter include:

- 4000 watt generator
- Water pump
- Gas engine
- 10 horsepower electric generator
- Ratchet straps
- Gas cans
- 12 volt winch
- Chainsaw and
- Oxygen/Acetylene cutting torches and trolley

LOCK YOUR CARS!

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Officers of the East Algoma OPP responded to several calls regarding theft from motor vehicles. The victims were on Lauzon Crescent, Short Road
and McKeown Road.

Police learned that sometime Sunday night between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unknown person(s) entered several unlocked cars. Taken from the cars were a passport, a driver’s licence, black cheques, loose change, ownership and insurance slips.

When leaving your parked vehicle make sure all items are out of view and lock your vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the above theft is asked to call the
