ROOMMATE CHARGED (Elliot Lake, Ontario) On July 3, 2009 at approximately 10:12 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Spruce Avenue in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On July 3, 2009 at approximately 10:12 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Spruce Avenue in Elliot Lake regarding a possible assault.

On scene police learned that the suspect had allegedly assaulted and threatened his roommate.

Charged with the following is Tom GROSSE (48) of Elliot Lake.

Assault with a weapon
Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm

GROSSE is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court September 1, 2009.

BREAK ENTER AND THEFT ON LONDON CRESCENT

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is currently investigating a break, enter and theft at a residence on London Crescent in Elliot Lake.

Investigation revealed that the victim left the residence on July 5, 2009 at approximately 9:30 p.m. and upon their return at 11:51 p.m. noted items missing from the residence.

The suspect(s) allegedly entered the residence via a window and removed several items. Some of the items missing are as follows: a Nintendo WII, a Sony Blueray player and an Acer 3500 laptop computer. Also taken from the kitchen was an undisclosed amount of money. With a further search of the residence and it was noted that a variety of prescription medication was missing (specifics of the prescription medication was not available at the time of the report). Also taken from the back yard was a child’s red bicycle.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Friday, July 3, 2009 at approximately 9:03 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Axmith Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Charged with the following is ROBERT LACKIE (51) of Barrie, Ontario.

Impaired Operation
Exceed 80

LACKIE is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court September 1, 2009.

POLICE INVESTIGATING SEVERAL MISCHIEF REPORTS

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Officers of the East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake are investigating several mischief reports.

(1) Location: Westview Crescent, Elliot Lake

- Officers attended the residence and noted approximately 12 paint ball rounds at the front of the home. The paint balls were light green in color. The damage occurred between June 30, 2009 at 10:30 p.m. and July 1, 2009 10:30 a.m.

(2) Location: 149 Mississauga Avenue Parking lot, Elliot Lake

- Sometime between 11:00 p.m. July 2, 2009 and July 3, 2009 9:56 a.m. unknown persons broke the drivers side window of a 2004 Ford Ranger truck.

(3) Location: Hillside Drive South, Elliot Lake

- A car dealership on Hillside Drive South reported that sometime between July 2, 2009 10:00 p.m. and July 3, 2009 11:40 a.m. someone scratch the front hoods of four cars parked along Hillside Drive South. Approximate damage is $500.00

(4) Location: Brunswick Walk, Elliot Lake

- The victim attended the station on July 3, 2009 to report that while in a pet store, unknown person(s) cause a long scratch on the passenger side of his 2006 Blue RAV4 vehicle.

(5) Location: Spruce Avenue, Elliot Lake

- Police attended a local church on Spruce Avenue regarding damage to statues on the east side of the church. Police learned that between July 3, 2009 11:00 p.m. and July 4, 2009 9:30 a.m. unknown person(s) knocked over statues from the small prayer garden. A small kneeling angel, a small kneeling male figure and a large statue of Mary were damaged. Missing is a figure of a lamb. All statues were imported from Italy.



(6) Location: Hutchison Avenue, Elliot Lake

- Police attended the parking lot and noted a sign posted at the entrance way was broken off at ground level. Also tipped over was a Canada Post drop box.

The OPP would like to remind all citizens to be a good neighbour by reporting any suspicious activities in your neighbourhood.

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) June 30th, 2009 at approximately 9:45 p.m. as a result of a complaint from concerned citizen, officers conducted a traffic stop on Washington Crescent in Elliot Lake.

Charged with the following is JASON Alexander LACKEY (32) of Elliot Lake.

Impaired Operation
Exceed 90

LACKEY is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on September 1, 2009.

RIDE CHECKS RESULTS IN DRUG CHARGES

(Blind River, ON.) – On July 6, 2009 officers from the East Algoma OPP Blind River detachment were conducting Ride checks on Woodward Avenue in Blind River. The officers stopped a white truck with the driver being the only occupant of the vehicle. While one officer was speaking with the driver another officer located a baggie with suspected marijuana on the passenger seat. The driver, 26 year old Eric PELLETIER of Blind River was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance. Pelletier was released and is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on August 6 2009.
