A recreational vehicle left on Tribag Mine Rd in Batchawana over the weekend was extensively damaged by a bear.

The owners of the camper arrived at the site yesterday to discover that the exterior and inside of the camper were damaged by a bear or bears. The animals gained access to the interior of the camper by damaging roof vents. The bear, or bears did get inside the Winnebago style camper and caused extensive damage to the interior and exterior of the RV.

Bear fur found all around the scene and inside the camper indicate that these animals were the culprits in this incident.

BEAR SIGHTING ON HAVILLAND SHORES DRIVE

Sault Ste Marie OPP received a report of a bear wandering around the 800 block of Havilland Shores Drive yesterday. At about noon yesterday the bear was seen by a resident. The bear did not appear to be bothering anyone or rummaging through any yard or garbage.
