It's black bear season again in Ontario

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Recently the OPP and the Ministry of Natural Resources have been received several bear calls for the Elliot Lake area.

Here's what you can do to help keep bears away from your property...

-Store garbage in a secure bear proof storage area until garbage pick up day.

-Thoroughly clean all food residue off your barbecue grill after use.

-Fill bird feeders only in the winter months...

...and don't put meat, fish, or sweet foods including fruit, in your composter.

To report bear problems, call the Ministry of Natural Resources hotline at 1-866-514-2327.

In an immediate emergency, call your local police, or 911.
