Sault Ste Marie OPP is investigating the report of stolen building supplies worth thousands of dollars from a home construction site at Harmony Beach.

The contractor arrived on the site Monday morning to discover that sometime overnight thieves had removed a large quantity of siding, lumber and an air conditioning unit from the construction site. The house has been under construction for several months. Preliminary estimates put the value of the stolen items well over $5000.00.

Sault Ste Marie OPP would like to hear from anyone that saw or heard any unusual activity in that area over the weekend.


LOWER ISLAND LAKE BREAK AND ENTERS

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Lower Island Lake in Heyden after receiving a report of two break and enters. Police have determined that at least two seasonal homes in the area were entered. The owners are compiling a list of property that has been stolen from the two homes
