TWO PEOPLE FOUND DECEASED IN RESIDENCE –

Post Mortem Date Announced

(Batchewana First Nation, ON) – A post mortem date has been set into the ongoing investigation into the deaths of two individuals on the Batchewana First Nation.

The post mortem has been set for both individuals on Thursday, 2 July, 2009 at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury under the direction of Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Queen.

The investigation is currently ongoing by members of the Batchewana Police Service, Sault Ste. Marie OPP, and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

TWO PEOPLE FOUND DECEASED IN RESIDENCE –
ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE INVESTIGATE


(BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION, ON) – Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment and ambulance were dispatched to a residence in the 2000 block of Mission Road on the Batchewana First Nation at approximately 10:10 p.m. yesterday evening.

Two deceased individuals were located in the residence.

Police are not releasing information regarding the deceased at this time pending next of kin notification.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by members of the Batchewana Police Service with the assistance of Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment, and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet of the Criminal Investigation Branch is leading this investigation.

ABANDONED THREE-WHEEL ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On June 24, 2009 a citizen attended the Elliot Lake Detachment to report finding an abandoned three-wheel all-terrain vehicle in a wooded area behind Burley Park in Elliot Lake.

Investigation revealed that the all-terrain was abandoned sometime between 9:30 a.m. June 23, 2009 and 10:00 a.m. June 24th, 2009.

The all-terrain is black in color with a red seat (possibly 1985) and under the black paint yellow could be seen indicating the original color of the ATV.

ASSAULT CHARGES

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On June 27, 2009 at approximately 2:18 a.m. the East Algoma OPP was called to attend a local bar regarding a possible assault.

Investigation revealed that a female had been injured and police have charged another female.

Charged with Assault is Penny BAIN (41) from Glennmorris, Ontario. BAIN is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on August 4, 2009.

LOCK IT OR LOSE IT

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) Police are investigating two (2) thefts from vehicle. Sometime during the evening of June 25th, 2009 and the morning of June 26th, 2009 unknown person(s) stole items from two unlocked vehicles.

One vehicle was parked on Westhill Road in Elliot Lake and taken from the vehicle was clothing, a camera and a portable CD player.

The other vehicle was parked on Axmith Avenue in Elliot Lake. Taken from the vehicle is the following, a white IPOD and car adaptor, stereo knob, sunglasses, loose change and Canadian Tire money.

YOUTHS CHARGED AFTER ROCK INCIDENT

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) June 26, 2009 police received a call to attend a residence on Westview Crescent in Elliot Lake regarding a youth complaint.

Investigation revealed that the complainant and friends were sitting outside and noticed several youths walked by their back yard when suddenly a rock came flying towards the victims. Police conducted a search of the area and located the youths at a local beach.

As a result of the investigation two youths have been charged.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with the following:
-Mischief – Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
-Assault Police
-Person under 19 years consuming Liquor (LLA)
-Being intoxicated in a public place (LLA)

A 17-year-old male has been charged with the following:
-Mischief – Interfere with lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
-Failure to comply
-Person under 19 years consuming liquor (LLA)
-Person under 19 years having liquor (LLA)

Both youths are scheduled to appear in youth court in Elliot Lake on August 4, 2009.

PAINT BALL COURSE KNOCKED DOWN FORCED CANCELLATION

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) June 29th, 2009 police were called to attend Centennial Arena regarding a structure being knocked apart.

The complainant reported to police that he worked on the structure and course until 9:00 p.m. on June 28th, 2009 preparing for a Paint Ball event scheduled for today.

When he arrived at the paint ball course on todays date at 9:00 a.m. he found that the course had been knocked down. The objects of the course had not been damaged but they required reassembly, which caused him to cancel appointments for the day.

UTTER THREAT TO POLICE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On June 28, 2009 during a routine traffic stop a male passenger uttered a treat towards the police officer.

The male was arrested and charged.

Charged with the following is Timothy Richard BLOXOM (49) of Elliot Lake.

Obstruct/Resist Police

BLOXOM is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on August 4, 2009.
