ATTEMPT ROBBERY (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a robbery attempt and requesting assistance from the public. On March 11th, 2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a robbery attempt and requesting assistance from the public.

On March 11th, 2012 at approximately 10:30 p.m. an unknown female entered the Hillside Shop and Save with a disguise and demanded money. The suspect appeared to walk with a recognizable gait. Shortly after, the suspect then left the store without the money.

The suspect is described as a white female between the ages of 19 and 24, thin build, approximately 5’2” tall wearing a white ¾ length coat with buckles, grey sweatpants, a dark hoody and white frame sunglasses.

The OPP is seeking to identify the person in the attached video clip.

PAY THE FARE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On Saturday, March 10, 2012 at approximately 3:00 a.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP received a call regarding a possible transportation fraud.

Officers attended the area of Taylor Boulevard and located the accused.  The victim advised police that he had attended a local mall and received a request from a male to drive him to Taylor Boulevard.  When the complainant arrived at the requested destination, the suspect allegedly attempted to leave the area without paying for the fare.

Charged with the following is Jacob MOORE (18) of Elliot Lake.

  •            Transportation Fraud

           The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on May 1, 2012.

 

LAPTOP TAKEN DURING BREAK AND ENTER

(Blind River, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP is seeking the assistance of the public in solving a break enter and theft back on February 22, 2012. 

Police received a call to attend a residence on Highway 17 in Blind River regarding a break and enter.  On scene police learned that sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on February 22, 2012 unknown person(s) entered the unlocked residence and removed a laptop and charger.  Value of the lap top and charger is approximately $580.00. Nothing else from the residence was taken.

 

LOCAL CONVENIENCE STORE VICTIM OF BREAK AND ENTER

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On March 10th, 2012 officers of the East Algoma OPP attended a store on Paris Drive regarding an alarm.

On scene, police observed the front glass door to be smashed.  While at the scene, officers received information that the suspect may be walking on Ottawa Avenue.  Police attended the area and located the accused.

Charged with the following is Alexandre Jean-Pierre ETHIER (18) of Sudbury.

  •             Breach of Probation (X2)
  •             Break and Enter

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on May 1, 2012.
