DRUG CHARGES FOR TWO LOCAL MALES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The OPP Joint Forces Drug Unit which consists of members from the OPP Drug Enforcement Section, OPP North East Region, Sault Ste Marie Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have charged to local males after conducting surveillance at a local high school.

Charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana is Jules Robert James MOORE (18) of Elliot Lake. Also charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana and (2) two counts of Failing to Comply is a 16-year-old male youth. The name of the youth will not be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both parties are scheduled to appear in court on June 5th, 2007.


WHO IS LURKING IN ECHO BAY DURING THE DARKENED HOURS ???

Echo Bay, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP have been investigating several incidents of theft and damage in the Echo Bay area over the last week.

Over the last week several victims have reported the theft of gas from their vehicles. It appears that during the night thieves have been siphoning gas out of vehicles on Church Street in Echo Bay. Again over the weekend thieves of a nocturnal nature attempted to get into a storage shed on the property of the Echo Bay School. The shed doors were extensively damaged but it appears that nothing is missing out of the shed.

If you live on Church Street in Echo Bay, you may want to consider leaving an extra light on. If you hear or see any unusual activity, do not hesitate to call the police. If you know who is stealing from the good citizens of Echo Bay, call Crime Stoppers or the OPP
