(Macdonald Twp., Ont.) A single vehicle rollover on Highway 17 in Macdonald Township 3 km west of Echo Bay yesterday afternoon around 12:10 p.m. left one male driver with minor injuries.

Jakub SZYMALA (22) of Mississauga, Ontario was charged with Failing to Drive in Marked Lane under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The car he was driving had to be towed.


RESIDENCE IN ECHO BAY BROKEN INTO

(Laird Twp., Ont.) A residence on Bar River Road in Laird Township was entered sometime yesterday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.

The side door had been kicked in.

Items stolen included a Fuji digital camera, JVC video camera, assorted gold jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money.

A white truck with a cap or a white cargo van type vehicle was seen by neighbors parked in the driveway between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 pm.

X-BOX AND GAMES TAKEN

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a break enter and theft on Hillside Drive South in Elliot Lake. The victim reports being away May 25th, 2008 and upon their return noted the X-Box and two (2) games missing. Nothing else was reported missing.

Anyone with information regarding the above break enter and theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Investigation continuing.

LOCAL DRIVER CHARGED

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Officers of the East Algoma OPP have concluded their investigation regarding a motor vehicle collision on May 20th, 2008.

May 20th, 2008 at approximately 10:54 a.m. police attended Oakland Boulevard after receiving a call regarding a vehicle collision with possible injuries.

On scene police learned that the vehicle hit a window and came to a full stop inside the business. The driver and passenger were located at the scene.

Two people inside the business at the time of the collision were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act is a 61-year-old female of Elliot Lake.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80 AND MORE…

(Blind River, Ont.) On the 24th of May 2008 at approximately 5:47 a.m. the East Algoma OPP received a call regarding a possible impaired driver on Togo Street in Blind River.

Police attended the area and investigated.

Charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 is Tyler WHITE (20) of Blind River.

WHITE is a G2 licence holder and was also charged with the following under the Highway Traffic Act:

B.A.C. above Zero – G2 Licence Holder

WHITE is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on August 7th, 2008.
